After School Programs
We are always looking for good, fun ways to engage young people in music and in believing in themselves and their own art. Since launching after school music programming two years ago, we’ve been taking lessons learned to try to move in the direction students and families tell us they are most excited about going.
For 2025-2026, we have TWO days programming! Mighty Music Makers (for the 1st-4th grade crew), and Music Club @ Monteverdi (MC@M) — a fresh take on creative music studio for 4th-7th graders. Last year’s Modern Music Ensemble, with their bold explorations in sound and video design, inspired this MC@M. **Check out photos, music, and a stop-motion animation video below from Modern Music Ensemble.
We will always keep digging around to evolve the experiences young people are having in music and art and offer our best in music and fun for our community.

Music Club @ Monteverdi [MC@M]
In 2024, guitarist, teacher, musical mastermind, kid whisperer, frisbee player, and generally awesome human Matt Delligatti conceived of a music program for kids who’d outgrown the need for aftercare, but wanted a place to go between school and home to be engaged and have fun with peers. The answer was the Modern Music Ensemble, a year-round Wednesday class. Students did everything from try new instruments, write & record songs, conceive multimedia installations, eat snacks, make videos, and play frisbee. For 2025-2026, we’ve tweaked it to have 4 separate sessions, THU, 3:30-5:00pm. We hope even super-busy kids can jump in where their interest is piqued.
SESSION II HOLIDAY JAM (w/Erin) Nov 6 - Dec 18 (6 weeks)
Hanukkah, Winter Solstice, Christmas, Kwanzaa, let’s play some tunes together. BBYO instrument or borrow ours!
SESSION III INTRO TO GUITAR. Jan 8 - Feb 19 (7 weeks)
Explore the guitar and learn the fundamentals in a friendly, fun, and supportive environment! [**Assistance with rentals and rent-to-own acoustic guitars through MMS and Naive Melody Instrument Exchange]
SESSION IV STUDIO MAGIC. Mar 5 -Jun 11 (14 weeks)
Calling musicians, podcasters, storytellers, & radio journalists! In Studio Magic, kids will use the recording studio to make creative pieces driven by their interests, blending music and storytelling into radio-ready productions. Perfect for kids interested in music, technology, or creative writing, with lots of ways for kids to plug into projects.

grades 4-7 (with some flexibility)
Full Tuition: $30/week; Supported Tuition: $15/week

Full Tuition: $33/week; Supported Tuition: $17/week ($1,254 or $646 annually)
We launched the Mighty Music Makers in 3 years ago, with a hearty pilot crew of 18, and we’ve been rocking and rolling ever since! This general music program for 1st-4th graders is based in the music room at Union Elementary School. With deep appreciation to the MRPS district for their space, our faculty lead these tiny musicians through fun, curious, and mysterious musical pursuits. Students need not have any prior music background, just a good attitude and a willingness to listen and try.
This year, increased our capacity by offering 2 different days of this program. Spots are meant for unique enrollees, but kiddos interested in taking two days of MMM are welcome too.
Mighty Music Makers runs Sep - Jun, following the school calendar for cancellations; when school is cancelled, so are we. In 2025-2026, there’s 1 early release on Tues, Dec 23; Mighty Music Makers will not meet that day. Feel free to email info@monteverdimusic.org with any questions!
