For our FOURTH year in a row, Monteverdi Music School celebrates MAKE MUSIC DAY by making the making of music on Montpelier’s streets easy and fun for everyone! On June 21st, this year and every year, people all over the world observe Make Music Day — an international celebration of the joy of music that started in 1982!

ANYONE can make music and, on this lovely day, the ONLY requirement is that one wishes to do so. People who think of themselves as musicians, pro to beginners, rockers to opera singers, clarinetists to drummers, and people who don’t, but wanna go for it anyway —- everyone is welcome on Make Music Day.

Monteverdi hosts a couple of sites where folks can sign up to play or sing; we host playful, low-key sites that are inclusive of all music makers, and for neighbors, family, and friends to cheer them all on! Thanks to support from a few sponsors, we will host players from 11am til 3pm at two sites downtown (the Christ Church courtyard, and in front of Naive Melody Instrument Exchange, both on State Street), as well as promote live music around town that day.

What better way to celebrate FATHERS’ DAY this year then popping into town to sing or play a couple tunes and get brunch or stroll our fair City??
