Ian is a guitarist and composer whose influences include early blues and folk music, late romantic piano repertoire, certain popular modern artists, and jazz that hasn’t happened yet, but might.

Ian studied Jazz Guitar and recording engineering at the University of Colorado Denver. With more than 13 years’ experience teaching all styles of guitar (as well as 25+ playing it), Ian has found success taking a flexible approach with students — being able to meet them where they are both musically and in terms of learning style — while pushing them somewhat to be curious and open minded about the possibilities with guitar.

Currently, Ian has availability in his studio and is pleased to work with guitarists of all experience levels, including total beginners, and with those as young as 6 years old.
