Join our newly expanded chamber music program. |
Chamber MusicOne of the benefits of taking lessons through a community music school is the opportunity to form ad hoc chamber ensembles with other students. Ensemble participants benefit not just by learning new repertoire but by learning to listen and respond to each other and to work together toward music as a collaborative creation. Ensemble work becomes increasingly valuable as students progress and provides a priceless opportunity to make friends who share a common passion. Ensembles include string trios and quartets, piano and strings combinations, and wind ensembles. All Monteverdi teachers are available to coach established chamber groups, and they actively encourage their students to collaborate with one another. In spring 2010, an intermediate piano student interested in Bach paired up with a like-minded cello student, and a saxophone student played regularly with one of the jazz pianists on the faculty. In fall 2010 we are expanding our chamber music program in collaboration with the Green Mountain Youth Symphony. Visit our registration page to learn more. |
